Hi all,
Please read! Important Notes: Bringing items to your child during rehearsal: We have heard about parents bringing items to their kids, but having the child go to the parking lot to get the item. The children are not to leave the building while we are running the show. If you are bringing something to your child, then please bring it into the school to your child. Thank you! April rehearsals: It is crucial that your child attend every rehearsal from now on. April will be especially important and there cannot be any missed rehearsals. We know this is hard with spring sport seasons starting back up, regular extracurricular activities and the Hairspray Jr. production starting. Your child made a commitment to the Wizard of Oz! Consider April to be our tournament time and you don't want them to let their team down. This was also discussed this with the kids yesterday. Even one person missing a rehearsal in April (especially during Tech weeks - April 21 to 27) causes a ripple effect that affects all the actors on stage. Do your best to stay healthy! This is about team work and being there for the team. Rehearsal Volunteers Needed! An updated Signup Genius will be sent out today with rehearsal dates through the end of April. Please sign up! There are shorter time slots as the rehearsals are running longer and I divided each rehearsal into two volunteer sessions. There are even Saturday options for the weekday warriors! It is a great way to catch a glimpse of the show. We are all volunteers (yes, even the directors!). If each of you signs up for just one or two slots will fill all the spots through the end of rehearsals! Moms, Dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles are all welcome to volunteer! No drama experience needed! Clean up at the end of rehearsals: The show is coming along so well. The entire cast is doing a GREAT job with their roles. We are now getting into costumes and props and have the added job of resetting the stage for Mr. Fischer's band classes. So there is a lot to be put away at the end of rehearsal. Unfortunately, many of the cast just leave at the end without helping put these items away. We would love it if the cast would all take a minute or two to put away a few props or a box of costumes or help reset the stage. Parents can help too, if you are waiting for your kids, how about coming in and lending a hand? Many hands make light work. Just come in about 5 minutes before rehearsal end to help out. If we all work together, we can all leave on time and get home to our families. The stage crew members are also doing a great job creating amazing set pieces! They are moving lots of light, but large set pieces back and forth from the Cafeteria to the Art Room. This is no easy task! Also, the backstage crew will be assisting the cast in resetting the stage for the band. Crew parents, please come in and help them, so they can leave on time as well. You also get to see all the great work they are doing! Thank you! The EMMS Drama Production Team [email protected]
