Nice rehearsal yesterday. We are in very good shape, and I am delighted that we go to run the entire show, with many of our set pieces and props.
Hats off to Mr. Bill and his crew for making such cool and creative props. Please treat them all with the utmost respects (the props as well as the crew and Mr. Bill :)). Don't leave props where they might get stepped on or crushed. And only use them when needed and put them away when done with them. Same with costumes. While we will have a week off, please use this time to memorize your lines, review songs and visualize what you are doing on stage to include any blocking, dancing, facial expressions, etc. You should go over any songs or dialog that you have EVERYDAY starting now and throughout our 4 performances. Have a friend or family member run lines with you. And practice the dance moves, too, so that you get use to doing them with a smile on your face and not looking at your feet. We had a great rehearsal on Thursday and I am looking forward to a productive day on Saturday. Here is a rough schedule to help us get the most done: 10:00am Costume Parents Arrive and set-up their stuff in the GYM 10:15am Students start to arrive to get costumes Students should bring in costume pieces which may work for them or others 10:30am Sets Arrive from LRHS 10:30am - 11:45am Costuming Continues Work the Candyman Work Think Positive Sing Thru Golden Age of Chocolate Run numbers and scenes with props and sets (Eat More, This Room, etc.) Run all Oompa Numbers Paint sets and flats Organize Props Committee Meetings (tickets, program, marketing, lights) 11:45am - 12:45pm Stage the Finale/Sing it Painting and costuming continues 12:45pm Pass out t-shirts Clean-up Students can bring a snack to eat, but please eat a good breakfast. Thank you. Mr. Todd We have rehearsal this Thursday and hope to run all the major numbers, as well as stage the finale. We will start in the gym as I think there is a SGA meeting in the cafeteria.
On Saturday, we have rehearsal from 10-1pm. The major goal will be costuming and sets, but we will fun some numbers, especially those we did not get to on Thursday. Also bring in any props you may have on Saturday, please. On Saturday, the plan is to have everyone fitted into their costumes, especially all the OOMPAs. If possible, where a leotard or something similar so you can easily change into costumes. You will need such a modesty garment for dress rehearsals and the shows. FYI. We will need parents to help with the costuming. ALSO on Saturday, we will be moving some set pieces from Long Reach. I have secured one pick-up truck, but we could possible use another truck or large van or SUV. We will meet at Long Reach at 10am on Saturday. Let me know if you can help load or unload. AND on MONDAY, 2/9 we will have rehearsal. That is the only rehearsal we are having next week due to conferences. The goal would be to run the show so I need everyone to be there. Thank you. We need to move a few set pieces that we are borrowing from Long Reach High School this Saturday between 10am and Noon. There are 2 large steps, 2 theatrical cubes, 2 theatrical benches and 1 large maypole. A pick-up truck or two would work best. My thoughts are to meet at Long Reach at 9:30am to get these items and delivery to EMMS. I do need 2 or 3 strong bodies to do some lifting. The steps will be our biggest challenge. I have a herniated disc and really do not want to be doing any major lifting. Please let me know if you can assist.
